Prune Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. prune juice (from cooked prunes)
  • 1 lb. prunes, cooked, pitted and cut into small pieces

    shortening. Add

    eggs.

    Combine dry ingredients.

    dry ingredients and prune juice until it is all used up.

    Add prunes and nuts and beat until smooth. Fill 8 empty

    soup cans half full and bake in 350° oven for 1 hour. Easy to take out of can; slice and serve.
