- 1/2 pound prunes dried
- 3/4 cup water boiling
- 1 3/4 cups flour, all-purpose
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 each eggs
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Directions

1Soak prunes in cold water 2 hours; drain.

2Pit prunes; chop.

3Add boiling water; let stand 5 minutes.

4Sift to-gether flour, sugar, salt and soda.

5Add prune mixture.

6Beat egg and add.

7Add salad oil or melted crisco.

8Pour into greased loaf pan and bake in 325F (160C) oven 1 hour.

9Remove from pan and cool on rack.
