  • 1 lb. prunes
  • 3 1/2 c. water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. prune water
  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Cover prunes with water.

    Cover and simmer about 40 minutes. Drain prunes, saving prune water.

    Pit prunes and mash.

    Add sugar, eggs, salt, vanilla and prune water.

    Sift together and add the flour, baking powder and baking soda.

    Bake 1 hour.
