  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. Wesson oil
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 big jar baby prunes
  • 1 c. fresh, black walnuts
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Sift the flour with soda, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg and allspice; sift into vanilla, eggs, sugar, oil, buttermilk and prunes.

    Mix and add nuts.

    Bake in an iron skillet at 275° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

    This is especially good on a fall evening served warm.
