  • 1 c. pitted prunes (note)
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 3 eggs, beaten well
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 2 c. pecans
  • 10 oz. carton of candied fruits (optional to make it a fruit cake, too)

Directions

    Sift and mix well flour, soda, salt and spices.

    Mix and add oil, buttermilk, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.

    Add pecans.

    Add candied fruits (optional).

    Bake in greased and floured Bundt pan 55 to 60 minutes at 325°.
