Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. Crisco oil (may use Wesson or any salad oil)
  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 c. (No. 303 can) pumpkin
  • 2/3 c. water
  • nuts (if desired)

Directions

    Sift all dry ingredients together into a large bowl.

    Make a hole in center.

    Add pumpkin, oil, eggs and water.

    Mix well, bake at 350° for one hour.

    Let cool for a few minutes in pan and then put in refrigerator overnight for 24 hours.

    It keeps well and freezes well.
