  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. canned pumpkin
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. cut-up dates
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

    Cream sugar and shortening together.

    Add beaten egg and pumpkin.

    Sift soda, baking powder and flour together.
