  • 2 cup plain(all purpose)flour
  • 185 grm cold butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 8 eggs
  • 300 ml of whipping cream
  • slice 2-3 rashers of bacon (fried and cut into strips)
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese
  • 1 paprika to sprinkle on top

    For pastry

    Put flour and salt in processor give it a burst
  3. 3
    Now add cut butter process about 20 seconds, it should look like breadcrumbs.

    Now add whole egg and zoom untill pastry forms a ball (you may need a tablespoon or 2 of cold water to help mix)

    Tip on bench and roll out to fit flan tin of choice ,line with baking paper and cooking beads and refrigerate for 30 mins

    Put in moderate oven and blind bake for 15 mins, then remove paper and beads and bake for another ten mins.remove from oven.

    Mix the 8 eggs and cream together, put bacon pieces in bottom of pie crust, sprinkle with cheese .

    Pour over egg mixture then sprinkle with paprika

    Bake in moderate oven about 30 mins

    Remove from oven and cool in tin
