  • 1 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 5 Tbsp. shortening
  • 5 c. flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water and let stand 5 minutes. Add remaining water, salt and sugar; beat.

    Add shortening and beat.

    Add eggs and beat.

    Add flour and mix until elastic.

    Put in refrigerator and let double in size.

    Take out and knead amount desired.

    Return rest to refrigerator.

    Let rise.

    Bake at 450° until brown.
