Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 3 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Mix together first four ingredients and heat to boiling point. Cool by adding cold water.

    Blend in egg.

    Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup water.

    Put in bowl with flour.

    Mix with spoon, cover and let rise until double.

    Stir down.

    Spoon in muffin pans.

    Let rise again.

    Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.
