- 1 1/2 c. raisins
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Simmer, with lid on for 20 minutes, raisins, water and shortening.

2Cool, then add egg and sugar.

3Sift together and add flour, cinnamon, soda and nutmeg.

4Stir together and add vanilla and nuts.

5Bake 20 minutes in a long pan at 350°.

6Cover with thin icing.
