- 1 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. margarine
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 yeast cakes
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1 c. raisins
- 1 c. walnut pieces
Directions

1Heat milk to warm.

2Add shortening, sugar and salt.

3Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water and add to mixture when it is cooled to 125°.

4Add 2 cups flour and beat until smooth.

5Cover and let rise for 1 hour.

6Add raisins and nuts and enough flour to make firm dough.

7Knead thoroughly and shape into loaf.

8Place in greased loaf pan and let rise until doubled.

9Bake at 325° for 50 minutes.
