- 1 large cake yeast
- 1 c. warm water
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 qt. milk, heated to boiling point
- 1/2 doz. eggs (3 whole and 3 yolks)
- 1 large box raisins
- sufficient flour to make kneadable
- 2 Tbsp. salt
Directions

1Heat milk to boiling point.

2Put butter, sugar, raisins and nutmeg in a large bowl.

3Pour heated milk over this.

4Mix and set aside to cool.

5Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water and 1 tablespoon sugar. Combine mixtures and eggs.

6Stir well. Start adding flour by cups, mixing until kneading consistency; not too hard. Cover.

7Let rise.

8Punch down.

9Let rise again.

10Punch down. Form into loaves.

11Let rise. Bake at 350° about 1 hour.
