  • 1 lb. seeded Muscat raisins
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 4 1/2 c. flour

    Stew raisins in 2 cups water for 15 minutes.

    Add Crisco, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, salt and soda in 1 cup cold water.

    Mix in flour.

    Put in a pan.

    Bake at 300° for 1 3/4 hours.
