Raisin Custard Bread Pudding

Ingredients
- 4 slices bread, cubed
- 1/4 c. raisins
- 2 1/4 c. milk, scalded
- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine, softened
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease a 1-quart casserole dish.

3Put bread and raisins in large mixing bowl.

4Add scalded milk; soak 5 minutes.

5Add butter, sugar, salt, eggs and vanilla; mix well. Pour into prepared casserole.

6Sprinkle with nutmeg.

7Put casserole dish in an 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.

8Pour 2 cups hot water in pan.

9Bake for 60 to 65 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

10Serve warm.
