  • 2 c. raisins
  • 3 c. boiling water
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • butter (size of a walnut)
  • pie crust for 2-crust pie

Directions

    Combine 2 cups raisins, 3 cups boiling water and 2/3 cup sugar and boil 10 minutes.

    Add cornstarch, mixed in a little water, 1 egg, nutmeg and butter.

    Cook until mixture thickens.

    Put into unbaked pie shell and add top crust.

    Bake at 425° for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 400° and continue baking until crust is brown.
