Crisco (butter color); 1/2 C. brown sugar; 1 C. white sugar; 2 eggs; 1 C. sour milk or buttermilk; 2 tsp. soda; 2 1/4 C. flour; 1 tsp. cinnamon; 1/2 tsp. nutmeg; 1/2 tsp. salt; 2 C. raw apples, peel, diced; Topping:; 1/4 C. brown sugar; 1/4 C.white sugar; 3/4 C. chopped pecans; 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream together shortening, sugars and eggs in mixing bowl. Dissolve soda in sour milk. Add flour, salt and spices and mix well. Fold in apples. Place in greased 9 x 13 pan and spread with the topping before baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
