- 1 medium size red cabbage
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 sour apple, grated
- 1 c. red currant jelly
- 1/4 c. vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 c. water
Directions

1Wash cabbage.

2Remove outer leaves and core.

3Shred very fine in a heavy saucepan or kettle.

4Melt the butter with sugar.

5Mix in shredded cabbage, grated apple, jelly and vinegar.

6Blend thoroughly.

7Simmer and stir 10 minutes.
-
8Add 1/4 cup water at a time and let it evaporate each time.

9Cook and stir frequently for 30 minutes.
