- 1 medium head red cabbage
- 3 apples
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 2 tsp. flour
- 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/3 ??? red wine
- dash of pepper, if desired
- 1/3 c. vinegar
Directions

1Cut cabbage in fine shreds; add a little boiling water and cook about 10 minutes, or until tender, but still crisp; drain. Peel and core apples and cut in thin slices.

2Cover in water and cook until tender.

3Drain.

4Melt butter in large skillet.

5Add cabbage and apples.

6Cook several minutes.

7Stir in flour thoroughly.

8Add remaining ingredients and cook over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

9Serves 6.
