  • 2 (1 inch) slices ginger root
  • 2 cloves anise
  • 1/2 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tsp. peppercorns
  • 1/4 c. soy sauce
  • 1/4 c. sherry
  • 1/4 c. sesame oil
  • 1 whole chicken

    Combine first seven ingredients and pour over poultry that has been placed in a Dutch oven.

    Baste 2 to 3 times while baking. Bake at 350° covered for one hour.
