  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 c. red food coloring
  • 1 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 Tbsp. white vinegar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. cake flour

    Cream shortening and sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time, and beat.

    Mix food color and cocoa together.
