- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 or 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, crushed and drained
- dash of garlic powder
- pinch of sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 c. water or tomato juice
- 8 oz. elbow macaroni
- grated cheese (optional)
Directions

1Brown beef, onion and pepper in a large, heavy pan.

2Drain off all fat.

3Add tomato sauce, tomatoes, water or juice, garlic powder, sugar, salt and pepper; stir well.

4Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
