- 1 (No. 2) can stewing tomatoes
- 1 small bell pepper, chopped
- 2 small onions, chopped
- 2 strips bacon
Directions

1Fry bacon strips crisp and remove from frying pan. Saute onions and bell pepper in bacon drippings. Crumble bacon back in sauteed onions and pepper. Put this mixture and tomatoes (after mashing) in saucepan.

2Add a small amount of baking soda or sugar and cook for 30 minutes. After tomatoes have boiled down, add equal amounts of rice and tomato mixture in rice steamer.

3Steam until tomatoes have cooked through the rice.

4Fluff rice to cook 30 more minutes. Add 1 pat of butter. Fluff with fork and serve.
