- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. cocoa
- 2 oz. red food coloring
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Cream the sugar and oil.

2Add eggs and beat well.

3Sift flour, salt and cocoa together; alternately add to creamed mixture with buttermilk.

4Add vanilla and coloring, then fold in soda.

5Bake in two 9-inch pans at 350° for about 25 to 30 minutes.
