  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. cocoa
  • 2 oz. red food coloring
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Cream the sugar and oil.

    Add eggs and beat well.

    Sift flour, salt and cocoa together; alternately add to creamed mixture with buttermilk.

    Add vanilla and coloring, then fold in soda.

    Bake in two 9-inch pans at 350° for about 25 to 30 minutes.
