- 1 lb. (2 1/4 c.) pinto beans
- 6 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. corn oil
- 1 onion, minced
- 2 garlic buds, minced
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. tomato sauce
- 2 c. grated cheese
Directions

1Soak beans overnight, then bring to a boil.

2Reduce heat and simmer 2 hours.

3Do not drain.

4Heat oil in skillet.

5Cook onion and garlic.

6Add chili powder, salt and tomato sauce; mix.

7Remove beans from liquid.

8Mash beans and add with liquid to skillet. Add cheese.
