  • 4 c. sugar
  • 4 c. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
  • 1 1/4 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 1/4 tsp. mustard seed
  • 3 onions, sliced
  • 4 pt. cucumbers, sliced

Directions

    Mix together a cold syrup; do not heat.

    Sterilize 4 pint jars.

    Put sliced onions evenly into jars and enough cucumbers to fill jars.

    Stir syrup well; pour into jars to cover onions and cucumbers.

    Screw on lids and seal.

    Refrigerate five days before using.

    Will keep in refrigerator 9 months to 1 year.
