Ingredients

  • 6 c. plain flour
  • 1 cake yeast or 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. lard

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in 1 cup lukewarm water.

    Dissolve sugar and lard in 1 cup boiling water.

    Cool to lukewarm; add yeast mixture, egg and then flour (a little at a time).

    Let rise overnight in refrigerator.

    Make into cloverleaf rolls or roll out and cut. Bake at 450° for 12 to 15 minutes.
