  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 6 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 3 Tbsp. lukewarm water
  • 3 1/2 to 4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg

Directions

    Combine hot water, salt, shortening and sugar in large bowl. Cool to lukewarm.

    Add yeast, softened in lukewarm water.

    Add egg and half of flour; beat well.

    Stir in remaining flour to make easily handled dough.

    Brush top of dough with salad oil.

    Cover; store in refrigerator.
