Regal Ham and Broccoli

  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 2 (10 ounce) packages frozen broccoli spears, cooked and drained
  • 14 cup margarine
  • 12 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon thyme, crushed
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 cups cooked ham, cubed
  • 8 ounces swiss cheese, sliced
  • 12 cup buttered bread crumb

Directions

    Spoon rice into a buttered 3- quart casserole.

    Place broccoli spears on top of rice.

    Melt margarine in a saucepan.

    Add onion and thyme.

    Stir in flour and cook, stirring, until hot and bubbly.

    Bring milk to a boil and add all at once to the flour mixture.

    Cook stir until until thickened and smooth.

    Stir in ham.

    Pour over broccoli.

    Layer cheese on top.
