- 1 1/2 c. light brown sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 c. sour milk
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. raw, diced rhubarb
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. melted butter
Directions

1Combine brown sugar, shortening and egg.

2In another bowl, combine milk with vanilla.

3Add milk mixture and sugar mixture alternately to flour, beating well after each addition.

4Fold in rhubarb and nuts.

5Turn batter into 2 greased and floured loaf pans.

6Sprinkle with sugar combined with melted butter.

7Bake at 325° to 350° for 45 minutes or until done.
