- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- red food coloring
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1 oz. melted unsweetened chocolate
Directions

1Cream margarine, sugar, egg and vanilla.

2Add flour, baking powder and salt.

3Beat until blended.

4Line a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan with wax paper.

5Spoon 1/3 of dough into a small bowl.

6Add almond extract and 5 drops red food coloring.

7Stir until blended. Spread evenly into prepared pan.

8Spoon half of remaining dough into small bowl.

9Stir in nuts.

10Spread evenly over dough in pan. Melt chocolate.

11Stir into remaining dough.

12Spread evenly over dough in pan.

13Cover and refrigerate overnight.
