- 1 can onion soup (not cream-style)
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. regular rice
- 1 (4 oz.) can chopped mushrooms
- 1 can water chestnuts, chopped
- 1 stick butter
- 1/4 c. slivered almonds
Directions

1Melt butter in heavy saucepan.

2Lightly brown rice in the melted butter.

3Add soup, water, mushrooms and water chestnuts. Bring to a boil.

4Add almonds.

5Pour into a covered 2-quart casserole.

6Cook at 350° for 1 hour.

7Do not open while cooking. (This is very good with roast beef, pork or any kind of fowl.

8If you like a one-dish meal, brown both sides of several pork chops and place on top of rice and bake for same time.)
