Ingredients

  • 1/2 gal. milk
  • 1 c. rice
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 to 4 dashes of nutmeg
  • 1/2 c. raisins

Directions

    In a large, heavy pot, combine milk, sugar and rice.

    Stir until mixture begins to boil.

    Reduce and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Remove from heat.

    Beat egg with water. Add vanilla and nutmeg.

    Stir into cooked mixture.

    Blend thoroughly.
