- 1/3 c. uncooked white rice
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 qt. milk (4 c.)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. light cream
- cinnamon, nutmeg and raisins (optional)
Directions

1Combine rice with sugar, milk, salt and vanilla (and raisins, cinnamon and nutmeg) in a 1 1/2 to 2-quart casserole.

2Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours (90 minutes), stirring when a crust forms on top.

3Add cream after the 90 minutes, but do not stir.

4Bake another 20 to 30 minutes.

5Cool.

6Pudding will get creamy while standing.
