- 1 c. long grain rice
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 3/4 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/3 c. chopped green pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 lb. can tomatoes
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 2 c. water
Directions

1Brown rice in 1 tablespoon oil over moderate heat, stirring constantly.

2Turn rice out; add remaining oil and brown beef, onion, green pepper and garlic.

3Add tomatoes, 1 teaspoon salt, chili powder and pepper.

4Simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
