Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Combine 1/2 cup scalded milk, shortening, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm with cold water.

    Add yeast and mix well.

    Blend in egg.

    Add flour until dough is blended and soft.

    Place in greased bowl and cover.

    Store in refrigerator at least 2 hours or until needed.

    Shape into 18 rolls.

    Let rise in a warm place about 1 1/2 hours.

    Bake at 425° for 20 minutes.
