- 3 to 4 onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 (12 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 2 (12 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (12 oz.) can water
- 2 to 3 Tbsp. white sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
- pinch of sweet basil
Directions

1Brown onions in oil.

2Add garlic, tomato paste, tomato sauce and water.

3Boil 1/2 hour, stirring often.

4Add sugar, salt, pepper and sweet basil.

5Cook over low heat for 1 1/2 hours, stirring often.
