- 1 ripe pineapple
- 8 whole cloves
- 1 cup maple syrup
- ground cinnamon
- 14 cup unsalted butter, melted
Directions

1With a sharp knife, remove skin and eyes from a whole pineapple, leaving the spiky leaves intact.

2Replace 8 of the eyes with the cloves.

3Remove some of the middle leaves and center the pineapple on a spit.

4Cover the leaves with foil.

5Mix together the maple syrup, cinnamon and melted butter.

6Rotate the pineapple over the grill, basting frequently with the maple syrup mixture, until browned and juicy and heated through, about 10 minutes.
