Ingredients

  • 4 c. self-rising flour
  • 2 c. bread flour
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Crisco (not oil)

Directions

    Sprinkle yeast over the flours.

    Combine eggs, milk, water, sugar and Crisco in a pan, stirring until shortening melts. Set pan off and cool just when you can set pan in hand.

    Pour over flour.

    Mix with hands (dough will be sticky). Cover and let rise 1 hour.

    Punch dough down and refrigerate overnight or about 6 to 7 hours in the refrigerator.
