- 2 yeast cakes
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 2/3 c. shortening, melted
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 10 to 12 c. flour
Directions

1Mix together first 3 ingredients and let set.

2Scald milk and shortening together.

3Let cool to lukewarm.

4Add yeast mixture and rest of the ingredients.

5Work good; shape into rolls.

6Place in greased pan and grease tops of rolls and let rise, covered, in a warm place for 3 1/2 hours.

7Bake at 400° until tops are brown. Place on rack to cool, grease tops and cover.
