Ingredients
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 2 rounded tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. milk
- flour as needed (usually 4 to 6 c.)
Directions

1Combine yeast and teaspoon of sugar in a cup.

2Add warm water. Stir until dissolved.

3Set aside.

4Put shortening in a large plastic bowl that will fit in microwave.

5Microwave for approximately 1 minute to melt shortening.

6Add salt and sugar. Microwave milk 1 to 2 minutes and add to shortening mixture.

7Stir in yeast mixture.

8Begin stirring in flour, 1 to 2 cups at the time. Continue until dough is no longer sticky but is still soft. Cover bowl and refrigerate overnight or until needed.
