- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. tepid water
- 1 c. boiled water
- 1 heaping tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 c. plain flour
- 2 sticks butter, melted
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in tepid water.

2Beat egg.

3Mix shortening, sugar and salt in large bowl.

4Pour boiled water into mixture. Stir until sugar dissolves.

5Let stand until tepid.

6Pour in yeast, egg and mix.

7Stir in flour and let rise in warm place for 1 hour. Stir down, cover and put in refrigerator.

8The next day, take out and poke down and let rise again.

9Poke down 2 or 3 times.

10Divide in two hunks and knead.

11Makes 1/4-inch rolls.

12Dip rolls in melted butter.

13Fold and put in pan.
-
14Let rolls rise again, double in size.

15Bake at 350° until lightly brown.
