Ingredients

  • 2 pkgs. dry yeast
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup all bran (Kellogs)
  • 1 cup shortening (Crisco)
  • 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 5 cups plain flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup lukewarm water

    Mix sugar, bran, salt, and shortening.

    Add hot water.

    In another bowl pour lukewarm water over yeast.

    Beat eggs separately and add to sugar bran mixture.

    When cool, add yeast to the mixture.

    Add flour which has been sifted.

    Put mixture in refrigerator.

    When it has doubled in size, it is ready to make rolls.

    Let rise thoroughly.

    Bake in hot over 400° - 450°.
