- 1/2 lb. Hershey's Kisses or bars
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. hot water
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 small pkg. dates
- 1/2 c. shortening (butter or oleo)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. sugar
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 1/3 c. flour
Directions

1Pour hot water over baking soda and dates; cool and set aside. Cream shortening.

2Add sugar, eggs and vanilla; mix well. Alternate flour and date mixture into the batter; mix well.

3Place 2/3 of batter in Bundt pan; sprinkle with 1/2 of the nuts and Kisses (or bars, broken up).

4Pour the rest of the batter on top; top with remaining nuts and Kisses.

5Bake for 1 hour, or until brown.
