- 2 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 6 1/2 to 7 c. flour
- 1/4 shortening
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water in a mixing bowl; add sugar and about 1/2 of the flour.

2Beat thoroughly for 2 minutes.

3Add eggs and shortening; beat in gradually the remaining flour until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth; place in refrigerator.

4Punch down occasionally and about 2 hours before baking, cut off amount needed.

5Return remaining dough to refrigerator.

6Shape into rolls and brush tops with butter.

7Let rise until light.

8Bake at 350° until brown.
