Roti Bread (flat round bread)

Ingredients

  • 500 grams all purpose or wholemeal flour, durum wheat flour for best results
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil for cooking

Directions

    Mix flour and salt through and add the water bit by bit till a semi soft dough,

    Keep aside for 15 minutes covered by a moist cloth,

    Knead for another 3 minutes,

    Make egg-sized balls, flatten and roll on some dry flour with a rolling pin till about 4-5 millimeters of thickness in a circular shape.

    Cook in a pan or griddle with a little oil untill golden brown by keep turning it.

    Keep it hot or cold before serving.

    Great with a raita dip or as a wrapped meal.
