- 15 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. shortening
- 1 gal. water
- 1 tsp. garlic
- 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 c. chili powder
- 1/2 c. paprika
- handful of salt
- 2 c. flour
- 3 Tbsp. quick cooking tapioca
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 1/2 c. water
- 1 (6 oz.) can frozen orange juice
- 3 c. fresh fruit (peaches, grapes, banana, strawberries, plums, melons, oranges and apricots)
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
Directions

1Combine the tapioca, sugar and 1 cup of the water in a saucepan.

2Bring to a full, rolling boil, stirring constantly. Remove from burner.

3Blend in the orange juice until melted.

4Add remaining 1 1/2 cups water.

5Cool 20 minutes.

6Stir, cover and chill thoroughly.

7Prepare desired fruit and cut into bite size pieces.

8When soup is chilled, add the fruits and lemon juice. Serves about 8 hungry teenagers.

9The recipe is easily doubled or tripled.
