  • 1 Tbsp. soft butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. (No. 2 can) white Royal Anne seeded cherries, drained
  • 1 c. (heaping) flour
  • 3 tsp. boiling water
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add egg, cherries, flour, water and soda, vanilla and pecans.

    Pour into greased and floured 9 x 9-inch pan.

    Bake 30 minutes at 350°.

    Cut into 9 pieces.

    Top with sweetened whipped cream.
