- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. Crisco
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. rum extract
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 3 c. sifted flour
Directions

1Cream together sugar and Crisco. Add eggs. Beat 2 minutes after each egg is added. Add rum and vanilla with last egg. Combine baking powder, baking soda and buttermilk. Add flour alternately with milk to sugar, shortening and egg mixture. Bake 1 hour at 350° in angel pan, greased and floured.
