Ingredients

  • 2 qt. green tomatoes
  • 1 qt. ripe tomatoes
  • 3 bunches celery
  • 3 large onions
  • 3 large red peppers
  • 3 green peppers
  • 1 small head cabbage
  • 1 large ripe cucumber
  • 1 c. salt
  • 3 pt. vinegar
  • 1 qt. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. mustard
  • 1 tsp. black pepper

Directions

    Sprinkle salt over mixture of tomatoes, celery, onions, peppers, cabbage and cucumbers.

    Let stand overnight, then drain well.

    Cook vinegar, brown sugar, mustard and black pepper until clear, about 1 hour.

    Pour over mixture.

    Put in jars and seal.
